This Unfinished World

Interactive Design — Dramatising Speculative Futures

This project, completed in 2017, investigates how contemporary environments might be transformed in speculative or dystopian futures. Through the manipulation of photographic imagery, familiar landscapes are reimagined and digitally altered to suggest alternate realities. These images are presented as stereograms—pairs of photographs designed for stereoscopic viewers, a 19th-century optical technique that laid the groundwork for modern virtual and augmented reality experiences.

By employing this early immersive technology, the work draws parallels between historical and contemporary modes of visual storytelling, inviting viewers to reflect on the socio-political and environmental trajectories of the present through the lens of imagined futures.
